The most wonderful time of the year is now in full swing! In need of some fun and festive things to do with the family this weekend? Look no further than Blairsville-Union County! This Saturday, December 8, two of the biggest Christmas events in our area are bookending the day. Holly Jolly Christmas Breakfast with Santa takes place at the Union County Community Center from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm and will feature pictures with Santa, the Mayor’s Christmas Train, the Gingerbread Village, family photo opportunities, games, crafts, storytelling, refreshments, and much more! Admission is free, and you can learn more about Holly Jolly Christmas.
Later that afternoon, be sure to head over to Georgia’s Favorite State Park for the Christmas Tree Lighting at Vogel State Park from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm. This awesome event features hay rides, caroling, a visit from Santa himself, and more, but the highlight of the evening will be the lighting of a 35-foot Blue Spruce at 6:00 pm. Parking is $5 and all are encouraged to bring an unwrapped gift for a child up to age 12 benefiting the Union County Sheriff’s Department’s GIVE-A-GIFT toy drive (no toy knives, guns, or dangerous items).
